Nic Cage -- Taunted Police Into Arresting Him

4/16/2011 9:26 AM PDT by TMZ Staff   Sources close to Nicolas Cage tell TMZ ... Nic was arrested in New Orleans this morning after daring the police to arrest him following a loud argument with his wife.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Nic was "very drunk" on the streets of N.O. when a cab driver saw him loudly arguing with his wife Alice.

We're told the cabbie called the police and said in addition to the screaming and yelling ... he saw Nic grab her.

We're told the police came and told Nic and his wife to just go home. That's when Nic allegedly told cops, "Why don't you just arrest me?" The cops then reiterated that he and his wife should just go home. Cage then repeated his dare to cops.

At that point, police took Nic into custody and charged him with ...domestic abuse and disturbing the peace.

We're also told Nic's wife is not a complaining witness and does not want him charged -- and says there was no physical contact.

UPDATE 10:27 AM PT -- A bond has been set at $11,000.

UPDATE 11:20 AM PT -- Cage has been released.

Police -- Cage and Wife Fought Over Rental Address

4/16/2011 11:42 AM PDT by TMZ Staff   An argument broke out between Nicolas Cage and his wife Alice last night when the two disagreed over the exact address of an apartment they were renting in New Orleans ... this according to police.

According to the NOPD, Cage and and his wife were standing in front of a property he believed they were renting. She disagreed and, according to the NOPD, he grabbed her by the arm to pull her to the correct address.

Police say there were no visible signs of injury on her arm.

The NOPD went on to say Cage then began to hit parked cars and later attempted to get into a taxi. Cops say Cage eventually got into a cab, but a police officer ordered him out ... which "prompted Cage to start yelling."

As TMZ first reported, that discussion with police included Cage daring cops to arrest him ... which they eventually did.

Two Men On Lil' Wayne's Security Team Arrested For Impersonating Police Officers

Two security guards who escorted Lil' Wayne at an Indiana concert last Tuesday night have been arrested for impersonating police officers!
43-year-old Ronald Andre Harrod and 23-year-old Larry Lee Richardson allegedly dressed in police-style uniforms, complete with gun belts, and drove vehicles with flashing red and blue sirens while driving the rapper to a nightclub after the concert.
Facing charges of impersonating a public servant, they claim to have been given permission and the credentials to drive with lights and sirens.

Permission from who? Lil' Wayne?
Obviously if they're getting arrested for it, they didn't have permission from the RIGHT people!
We'd like to hear what Weezy has to say about this!
